Waikato Laboratory request notification prior to sending this test. Sendaways will notify Cell Markers Lab when the sample is sent.

Blood samples must be receipted into LabPlus before 1100 Monday to Wednesday only. Not possible to be collected the day before a public holiday.

Blood samples to be collected at Auckland City Hospital Collection Rooms - please see LabPlus Phlebotomy Service for hours and location.

Blood sample must be collected prior to a blood transfusion or at least 60 days from any previous blood transfusion.

Samples MUST be sent day of collection. They CANNOT be stored.

Require 1X 4ml EDTA. Patient's sample must be kept on ice at 4°C as soon as possible after collection. DO NOT SPIN.

Six EDTA samples with normal haematology profiles as controls samples. The control samples must be collected at a similar time as patient sample. The control samples are prepared by Haematology Automation.
