Pre-testing Requirements
Full clinical details are essential . This enables the laboratory to select appropriate tests and request additional specimens where necessary to establish the diagnosis. Additional consultation may be indicated.
Request form must state which investigation is required; e.g. Immunity (IgG).
Testing for infection (IgG and IgM) is unlikely to be indicated and should have prior discussion with the Clinical Virology team.
