Collect 1x 1ml EDTA blood sample.

Transport

  • Do not load on the 8100.
  • Place sample and number in white basket labelled Special Haematology on shelf next to dumb waiter.
  • After hours - Notify Haematology staff.

    Sample Stability

    Samples should arrive in the laboratory within 1 hour of collection. and should be processed within 6 hours of collection because of the detrimental effect of prolonged exposure of malarial parasites to anticoagulants.
