Quantitation: 2mL random or aliquot of a 24 h urine. For the 24 hour urine, keep cool during collection period. Freeze sample if transport to laboratory is delayed.

For routine analysis a sample sent immediately at room temperature to the laboratory is acceptable.

Specimen Collection:

24 Hour Urine: Acid or plain bottle. Thymol bottle acceptable. Aliquot into pot. Record volume and duration on form and pot.
