Laboratory Handling

EDTA tube on ice.

Transport

Deliver immediately to the laboratory. Delay may cause falsely elevated results due to degeneration of oxalate from precursors.

Separating

Plasma should be centrifuged promptly at 4 °C, separated from the cells immediately, and then frozen.
