Laboratory Handling

Do not send the sample via the Lamson system (hand deliver)

Separating

If the sample has been spun for clotting screen, then it cannot be used for PFA

Laboratory

Sample must be processed within 4 hours of collection and kept at room temperature at all times.

Sample Stability

PR and APTT - 12 hours at room temperature; Fibrinogen - 24 hours ar room temperature; PFA 4 hours at room temperature; Factor VIII - 4 hours at room temperature or may be frozen if testing is delayed; sendaway tests to LabPlus - sample must be frozen within 4 hours
