Specimen Collection
- 4 x 10 mL CPD Whole Blood (Always Required)
- Gently mix.
- Do not refrigerate the CPD tubes. The cells stay viable longer if kept at room temperature.

Diagnostic Use and Interpretation
Following review by the Medical Specialist the results will be posted to the requesting Doctor. The results can be phoned or faxed through to the requesting Doctor if marked accordingly.

Any specialised laboratory platelet work must be discussed with the Medical Specialist at NZBS-N before the tests are requested: e.g. Family studies / Platelet Genotyping (DNA), Drug Dependent Platelet Antibodies, Platelet Cross-Matching
