Registration

The patient citrate and machine citrate should be clearly noted on the tubes. Patient Citrate - Place one barcode label on the form and specimen. Machine Citrate - Label this sample with a separate barcode label and place a small, non-barcoded number on the same form. Write "Machine", next to it. - The machine sample is not registered. All results are reported under the patient registration number only. Register APTH and FILT under the Patient number. Spin both specimens and send to haematology with a copy of the original form.
