Laboratory Handling
Registration
Register with a M number. Laboratory form requesting biochemistry tests and samples. Process as usual. Acute transfusion Reaction Notification to Blood Bank form, blood bank EDTA sample and transfused unit/s. Deliver to Blood Bank. Blood Bank will determine whether the transfused unit/s need to go to Microbiology. Blood bank will return the unit/s to Specimen Reception with a transfused Unit Culture Request form for labelling and registration.
