• Lithium Heparin - Non-gel (Green Cap)

Acceptable

• EDTA (Lavender Cap)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Testing available Mon to Friday only.
Specimens MUST BE received in Lab before MIDDAY FRIDAY.
For any other requests after midday Friday the Clinician must have a discussion with the appropriate department at Lab+ before collecting the sample.
For investigation of immunodeficiency - request form will state ""phenotype"" or ""function"".

EDTA stable for 24 hours.
Heparin stable for 48 hours.

Adult - 4 mL Heparin, 4 mL EDTA
Paed - 0.5 mL Heparin, 0.5 mL EDTA
Gel Heparin tube is not acceptable
Microtainer Heparin (Green) NOT acceptable
