Registration
The serum and the other fluid must be registered with separate laboratory numbers. Suffixes are not needed. The printed barcodes must indicate "serum" and "other fluid" and must be stuck to the correct tubes.
Separating
During working hours (0730-1600) centrifuge the blood, separate the serum and deliver the serum and the "other fluid" to the immunochemistry staff. During afterhours centrifuge the blood, separate the serum and store the serum and the other fluid in the Ichem rack. Place the other fluid in a biohazard bag.
