Additional Specimen Information
Collect a separate, dedicated aliquot of amniotic fluid in a sterile, leak-proof container for infectious pathogen testing, accompanied by a separate request form.
Specimens shared between departments may be used for other testing, resulting in insufficient or no sample remaining for infectious pathogen testing.
Specimens previously opened or processed for other testing may have an increased risk of contamination, which may affect molecular test results.
