Blood or blood-stained faeces, sputum or even blood-stained cloth artices can be used but if the blood (or blood-stained article) is brown in colour, this indicates that the blood is already denatured and is unsuitable for analysis.

The minimum volume of blood required = 50 uL (0.05 mL)
