A REQUEST FOR URGENT BILE ACIDS testing in pregnancy to be sent by Sub60/taxi and tested urgently by Lab+ (i.e. <24 hours turn around time) must come with approval from an Obstetrician /Maternal-Foetal Medicine or Obstetric Physician Senior Medical Officer This test is routinely performed Mon-Friday only. Lab+ will not provide an on call person to run it on weekends or public holidays. Any clinician requesting this test urgently out of normal work hours or over a weekend or holiday period must contact the Lab+ on call Chemical Pathologist themselves to discuss the request. Otherwise the sample can go with the next routine courier.
