Bone marrow (BM) aspirate specimens are transported from the clinic to the laboratory by a Haematology scientist immediately following the bone marrow procedure.

Sample Stability

Specimens fixed in 2.5% glutaraldehyde buffered to pH 7.4 with phosphate buffer are stable for long-term storage (months). Overnight fixation is preferred before processing.
