Turnaround Time

5 days

Preliminary verbal results to a referring pathologist may be available within 36-hours of specimen receipt, Monday to Friday.
Turnaround time is up to 5 working days however, depending on the complexity of the case and whether additional studies are required, the final report may take 7 working days.

Routine service Monday to Friday
For weekdays prior to a public holiday samples should be received in the laboratory by 1500 to allow for testing.
Requests for urgent testing will be prioritized within working hours.
Requests for critical testing outside of these times is by arrangement, and must be approved by the laboratory haematologist on call. They can be contacted via the hospital operator.
