This request is for the standard ganglioside antibody panel using the following targets: GM1, GM2, GD1a, GD1b, GQ1b.

Other antibody targets (eg. GA1, GM3, GD3, GT1a, GT1b) are NOT included in this panel and requests for these should be discussed with the Immunopathology team (see contact information below) prior to sample collection.

Vetting policy:

This test may be vetted by a pathologist. The clinical information for the test must be clearly written on the request form. If clinical information is not provided, or does not provide sufficient justification for the test, the test may be declined.

For declined tests:

If a test is declined, the specimen will be held for a reasonable period (usually 3 weeks but dependent on the viability of the sample). Medical practitioners seeking approval for a declined test should contact the LabPLUS Immunopathology team (see contact information below), providing the patient's name, NHI number and the clinical justification for the test.

International sendaway:

Aliquot into a screw top Sarstedt vial. Routine serology tubes with a push in lid are unsuitable
Check two points of ID are on sendaway aliquot. Place at 4 °C with a copy of the form in the plastic container labelled "International Sendaways" in the walk in cool room (FA18A).
