Pre-testing Requirements

For patients on Cinacalcet (trade name: Devatis), PTH levels should be assessed at least 12 hours after dosing with cinacalcet. (from Medsafe data sheet. Also see limitations/interference section below)

Limitations / Interference

Simultaneous plasma/serum calcium and albumin levels are necessary for the interpretation of results.
For patients on Cinacalcet (trade name: Devatis), PTH levels should be assessed at least 12 hours after dosing with cinacalcet. PTH levels are temporarily suppressed after a single dose of cinacalcet in dialysis patients, reaching its nadir around 1-3 hours post dose.
