Additional Specimen Information
Alpha thalassemia strip test is done on the day the specimen arrives.
If the specimen is older than 24 hours the test is still performed. However, a negative strip does not exclude an alpha thalassemia trait.
Late arrival of sample is documented and commented on appropriately.
